Supernatural Insights

Yeah, I've been away a long time. Duly noted.

Anyway, had a couple of interesting psychic encounters this past week. Specifically, I encountered one of those little booklets in the supermarket checkout line titled Are You Psychic? Then in last week's Parade magazine, in their annual "What People Earn" story, they included a "psychic" who earned $38,000 a year.

So I've realized that in the public interest I need to state for anyone who reads this
You are not psychic.

More specifically:
I mean, if there really are psychic people, they would either be out preventing 9/11 type events or they'd all be retired and living in some tropical paradise. I picture a new person moving into a condo there and having this conversation:

Old resident: Hey, welcome to paradise. Oh...I perceive that you're psychic.
New resident: Um, well--
Old resident: Don't worry about it. Most of us are. I made my fortune by telepathically stealing insider trading info on Wall Street. What about you?
New resident: I placed a bet in October that the Giants would beat the Patriots in the Superbowl.

If you're not playing at that level, then trust me, ya ain't psychic. Concentrate on developing your real skills instead.

Comments:
Carl,
have you read the Secret?
I don't know the reputation it has in the US, but I picked it up by "mistake" in Feb. I really had nothing to loose so on a 11 h flight from LAX-CPH I totally focused on the green $ bills. As I arrived at CPH and came to pick up my car I found that the parking machine was broken. Tried to pay anyway, but the service guy said "it's free today." I saved about 250$ :)
If you've rad the secret it makes it really hard not to believe in this!

Take care, Carl! Miss your classes still!

Regards,
Old, foreign student!

1)Missed your ever insightful observations.
2)Somehow I just "knew" that you were going to say that bit about not being psychic...dang it. ;)

I think you should share these blog entries (specifically this one) with the class. The composition class on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:45-2. They're witty and insightful and I like reading them!
